George wrote “Otto the Odd and the Dragon King” as a short story for children shortly after the publication of our first book “Nine Dragons: A Contemporary Fable”. I originally illustrated “Otto the Odd” as a children’s book, but decided a few years down the road that it would be more fun to draw it as a comic. George has also adapted it into a play. George and I have collaborated on a few projects together, including “Eve of All Saints” an in -progress graphic novel based on his book “Carnival of Saints” published by Balanchine in 1997.
